Malepszak Stanisław (1927-2023)

Dr. Eng. Stanisław Malepszak (1927-2023) He was born on October 4, 1927 in Luboń to father Jan and mother Gertruda née Mleczak. Before the war, he studied at Primary School 2 (Cieszkowiance) in Luboń. He was an eyewitness to the murder of Fr. Stanisław Streich on February 27, 1938. During the occupation, as a 14-year-old, he was forced to work hard, among others. in the Juników brickyard and railway rolling stock repair workshops in Poznań. In 1951, he married Aleksandra née Włodarczak, with whom he spent 71 years of marriage. They had three children: Danuta, Andrzej and Juliusz. Stanisław Malepszak was a graduate of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the Poznań University of Technology. At the age of 70, he obtained his doctorate at the Faculty of Architecture, Urban Planning and Environmental Engineering. As an engineer, he was an industrial construction designer for 36 years. After a car accident (1976), he retired and devoted himself extensively to history and archeology as well as urban planning and architecture. He published, among others, in the Independent Monthly of Residents "Wieści Lubońskie" (WL) and the Leszno "Friend of the People" magazine. At "WL" he was also a very active member of the editorial board from 1993.Author of many historical books: "The Parish of St. "John Bosko against the background of the history of Luboń" (1993) written together with Ryszard Jaruszkiewicz; "50 years of the Luboński Sports Club" (1993); "Bukówiec Górny against the background of the history of the Przemęt region" (1995) - a work awarded with the national award of the foundation named after Maciej Rataj; "Archaeological Excavations in Luboń" (1998) written together with Błażej Stanisławski; "Żabikowo - the history of the village and August Cieszkowski's foundation" (1999); "Luboń and the surrounding area - the history of settlement and nine parishes" (2003 and 2005); "Bukówiec Górny - 800 years of history" (2007); "200 years of education in Luboń" (2008) written together with Piotr P. Ruszkowski; "Włoszakowice Commune - 800 years of history" (2010). He was also the author and co-author of chapters published in "Rocznik Historyczny Lubonia" (since 2011). His last unfinished book is an unpublished monograph on which he worked almost to the end, with the working title "The village of Luboń, the progenitor of the city - the place I know and remember." Stanisław Malepszak had, among others: the title - Honorary Citizen of Bukówiec Górny; medal – "Merit of Merit for the City of Luboń" (2004); the "Sower of the Year 2011" statuette. He died on November 25, 2023 at the age of 96.
